On 19 and 20 September, l'Abbaye d'Abondance is celebrating "le Patrimoine en péril" as part of European Heritage Days! Come and discover this iconic monument in the Chablais region and enjoy a wide range of free activities.

To mark the European Heritage Days, the Evian - Vallée d'Abondance region is offering a varied program of visits to well-known and little-known sites, for young and old, on your own or accompanied.

Immerse yourself in history with the exhibition “Savoie at the Time of Annexation.” From 1858 to 1860, relive the events that led to Savoie’s annexation by France through an accessible, informative, and captivating exhibition.

Discover what the village was like in the 1920s and 1930s through the photographs of Pauline, a resident from that era. Take a stroll between the past and the present to rediscover La Chapelle d’Abondance in a whole new light.

This guided tour will explore these two buildings, which are designated as Historic Monuments: their history, functions, architecture, and more…

Come rediscover the Rénovation neighborhood. How does a modern neighborhood fit into an historic city? What were the architects’ and landscape architects’ intentions?

From thermal baths to ski lifts, this tour will introduce you to the topics covered at the center.

The Friends of the Bridge Association will be on hand to help visitors explore the Évian Bridge site.

Once in danger of being lost to history a few years ago, the Évian Bridge was saved thanks to a group of dedicated enthusiasts. This guided tour, led by a member of the Friends of Bioge association and a certified tour guide, will tell you this story.

The Vignes et Patrimoine de Féternes association planted a vineyard in April 2022, which it cultivates with the aim of showcasing the wine-growing heritage of the town of Féternes.

Mountain villages were long isolated during the winter, but they did have schools. Explore La Chapelle d’Abondance to trace the history of its successive schools from the 19th and 20th centuries and follow the evolution of public education.

The Maxilly spa will be open to the public on a special occasion to host two exhibitions. One exhibition showcases the Tonkin Line and the Rive Bleu Express tourist train.

Perched on the hills above the village, the priory has overlooked Meillerie for 800 years! Come explore at your leisure its ancient defense tower, its church, and its living quarters, which once housed the canons regular of the Congregation of the Great St. Bernard.

This small village has two rescue teams: MEILLERIE, founded in 1886, and Bret-Locum, founded in 1923. Both are made up of volunteers whose goal is to provide rapid assistance to people and boats in distress.

Through a small exhibition on the village of Neuvecelle—which was once entirely put together by our volunteers—visitors can immerse themselves in the atmosphere of days gone by and discover the lives of our ancestors, as well as the trades and crafts that once flourished in the town.

This time, we’re taking your taste buds on a journey back in time with a vegetable tasting and traditional recipes, all set against a warm, musical backdrop.

As part of its efforts to highlight the cemetery’s significance, the town has created a themed heritage trail called “Bubbles of History” to shed light on the stories of “unknown but not so obscure” figures buried in Publier.
